Athlete-Focused.
Always on Your Side.
I started Line by Line Legal & Counsel because I realized something — in most NIL deals, no attorney is exclusively in the athlete's corner. Brands have attorneys. Agencies have attorneys. Collectives have attorneys. But the athlete? Most of the time, nobody. I'm here to change that — using my legal expertise to make sure you never get taken advantage of and never become one of those “NIL deal gone wrong” stories.
I am not affiliated with any agency, collective, or brand. Serving high school and college student-athletes, men and women, across all sports — with no financial stake in the deal, only in making sure the contract terms protect you.
Why Athletes Are Unprotected.
Most athletes don't realize the gap that exists in their NIL team until something goes wrong. Here's why it happens.
A contract isn't just a piece of paper — it's a legally binding agreement that controls your obligations, your money, and your future. It requires legal expertise to review properly — not just business knowledge.
Your agent or manager is great at finding deals and negotiating your pay — but contract law is a specialized skill. Without a lawyer reviewing the language, critical protections get missed.
Your pay, your obligations, your protections, your exit options — all of it comes down to what's written. One bad term can cost you money, limit your future deals, or put your eligibility at risk.
Most athletes sign contracts with terms that can hurt them and never find out until something goes wrong. By then, the written terms control — even if something feels unfair.
One Attorney. One Side. Yours.
Line by Line Legal & Counsel exists for one reason — to be the attorney exclusively in the athlete's corner at every stage of the NIL deal process.
“Every student-athlete deserves an attorney who works only for them— reviewing every word, fighting for better terms, and making sure no deal today limits what they can build tomorrow.”
— Attorney Lamarr Martin
No ties to any brand, agency, or collective. Ever.
I represent athletes only. Nobody else.
High school and college athletes, all sports, every state.
I look for what's missing.
Most people read a contract for what it says. I read it for what it doesn't say.
Vague language, missing protections, undefined terms, one-sided exit clauses, and more — these are the things that get athletes in trouble. Not because the contract looked wrong, but because nobody stopped to ask what was left out.
I dig deep enough to find what's missing, ask the questions nobody else is asking, and push for the language that actually protects you — without holding up the process.
And when the contract is missing something entirely, I don't just flag it — I draft it. Custom clauses tailored specifically to your sport, your situation, and your goals. Protection that wasn't in their template because it was never written for you.
The contract governs everything.
Your agent negotiates the deal. Your manager works the relationships. But the contract controls everything after that. Every obligation. Every protection. Every dollar. Every exit option.
That's why having an attorney exclusively reviewing and fighting for your contract terms is the most important protection you can have in the NIL era — and the one most athletes are missing.
I'm not here to replace your agent or manager. I'm here to work alongside them — playing my role so your entire team is finally complete.

Contracts don't stop after college.
